Greywalls has been welcoming golfers for over a century, and there's a reason so many of them come back. Sitting right on the edge of Muirfield, one of the world's most celebrated links courses, we're perfectly placed to offer our guests something truly special: the chance to play one of golf's greatest stages.

Muirfield has hosted the Open Championship more times than almost any other course and remains as challenging and breathtaking as ever. From our Edwardian country house hotel, set within beautiful walled gardens, there is simply no better place to base yourself for a round at one of golf's most revered courses.

Your Day on the Course

Tee times are available for parties of two or four players, and our team will be on hand to make sure your day runs smoothly - from checking you in at Greywalls before you head to the first tee, to recommending the best spots to enjoy a drink after your round.

If you'd like to make the most of your time on the course, we'd encourage you to book a caddie in advance. Muirfield's caddies know every inch of this remarkable layout and will add a whole new dimension to your game.

Terms & Conditions

Booking & Payment

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.

  • Full prepayment is required 90 days prior to arrival.

  • Bookings cancelled at any point will forfeit any monies paid, unless the accommodation and tee time are resold to the same or higher value.

Tee Times & Eligibility

  • Muirfield tee times are only available as part of the Muirfield Package, which is inclusive of two nights' accommodation, breakfast, and one dinner per person. This package includes one round of 18 holes.

  • Tee times are available for parties of two or four players only. Single or triple bookings are not permitted.

  • A maximum handicap of 24 applies. Proof of handicap for each player must be provided by scanned photograph via email to golf@greywalls.co.uk no later than two months prior to arrival. Failure to provide proof of handicap within this timeframe will result in the automatic forfeiture of your tee time.

  • Your home club is required to be provided to Muirfield, please confirm at time of booking.

  • All guests must be 18 years of age or over to book and play unaccompanied. Guests aged 16 or 17 may play when accompanied by an adult on the same tee time.

On the Day

  • All guests must check in at Greywalls before signing in at Muirfield. Please liaise with hotel reception on your day of play.

  • Access to Muirfield's member clubhouse, including changing facilities, is restricted at various times. Please contact our team for further information.

  • Dinner reservations must be made at the time of booking your package.

Caddies

  • Caddies are available to book in advance at a cost of £80.00 per 18 holes, exclusive of gratuity, payable directly in cash (sterling) on the day.

  • Cancellation of a caddie must be received no later than 7 days prior to play, otherwise the full fee applies.

  • Only Muirfield caddies are permitted on the course. Caddies carry one bag per golfer and do not double bag.

Golf Buggies

  • Golf buggies can be requested at a cost of £40.00 per round, subject to availability. Requests must be submitted no later than two months prior to arrival via email to golf@greywalls.co.uk.

  • A valid medical certificate is required for all buggy requests. Buggy availability cannot be guaranteed, as Muirfield members take immediate priority.

Golf Services

As part of your Muirfield package, golf tee times are arranged by GWUK Owner Ltd ("Greywalls") on your behalf. Greywalls acts as a disclosed agent in securing tee times and associated golf services with Muirfield (the "Supplier"). This means Greywalls facilitates the booking but does not provide these services directly.

All golf services, including tee times, are provided by the Supplier. Your contract for these services is with the Supplier directly. Greywalls does not acquire or resell golf services in its own name and is not responsible for the delivery of services provided by the Supplier. Any queries or issues relating specifically to your golf experience will be directed to the Supplier.
