Greywalls - Exclusively Yours

After 60 years running Greywalls as a conventional country house hotel, the family are making a significant and positive change for the future.

The whole house will be let, exclusively, as one entity for a single party, which will play to the strengths of this beautiful building and garden. So Greywalls will revert to being as was originally intended by its designer Sir Edwin Lutyens - a fully staffed house for all sorts of occasions and parties. Such a use is , in fact, more in keeping with its style and Edwardian heritage than that of a conventional hotel Indeed over the years we have observed what a glorious place it is for a house party, be it made up of golfers, gardeners, shooting parties, wedding guests, family anniversaries or business strategic thinkers. The main house can cater for between 10 to 40 people - while the Colonel's House can accomodate smaller groups up to 8 persons.

We shall operate at the high standard you would expect and shall continue to give an outstanding service. We will provide excellent, friendly service combined with good wines and delicious food served in the same lovely surroundings - but in addition you will have the place to yourselves.

We are determined to continue to make Greywalls available for guest to enjoy and to provide a major tourist destination in East Lothian. We know that we have a responsibility to such an important architectural property and, after lengthy deliberations, we have decided that this course is the way forward for our beloved Greywalls.

Of course we shall miss many of you , our individual guests, and Sue Prime to whom we owe a great debt. After 18 years as the manager Sue is moving on to pastures new.

Don't forget Greywalls was built as a 'small, albeit dignified holiday home' for a single party and it will become once again.
